About Us

Mission:

Our mission is to provide high quality, affordable and accessible education to children around the world.

Value:

Our program is designed for students to develop mental math and strong foundational math skills, which can in turn be useful for them in everyday life. We also value quality and equitable education.

Our Team

Easy Math for Kids is dedicated to creating high-quality, affordable, and accessible education for children around the world. Since starting the abacus training program in Canada in 2010, we have helped many local students improve their math skills and thinking skills, and have been featured in many media interviews and reports.

In order to give children a better start in math, our company has created a highly acclaimed abacus program for children ages 4-5 and 6+. Our program is delivered in a virtual classroom with a live teacher, using a combination of digital and physical abacuses to help children build solid math skills in a fun-filled way. The learning process engages multiple senses and helps to improve attention span and memory, while effectively exercising the hand-eye coordination and hearing to promote brain development. The small class size allows for more interaction between teachers and students, ensures quality teaching, and provides individualized education. The English teaching environment is also effective in improving children’s English proficiency.

At the same time, we have rich teaching resources. In terms of teachers, our founder and leading teacher, Annie Hardock, graduated from the University of Waterloo in Canada with a degree in Mathematics and has over ten years of experience in teaching abacus. Annie’s valuable experience and insights gained through watching her son completing the abacus training program have become an important source of the core philosophy and teaching methods of our abacus program. For teaching materials, we have produced digital books to help students quickly master the essentials of abacus.

Our History

In the summer of 2010, Annie’s son Michael began teaching the Abacus program to young children in Uxbridge when he was still in high school. He received great recognition from parents who wanted their children to further their Abacus training. That was how the afterschool abacus program started in 2011 with the grand opening of a learning center in Uxbridge Ontario Canada.

In the winter of 2011, Annie’s Abacus program was officially launched at the opening of our learning center in Canada. Besides, our students achieved excellent results and certificates at the annual Abacus Mental Math Competition. Since 2017, Annie’s team has organized an annual March Break STEAM Camp and Summer STEAM Camp. These activities are creative, informative and educational, and the response from the participants has been excellent. Children learn new knowledge in a fun-filled environment.

In March 2020, with the outbreak of COVID-19, Annie pivoted the program online seeing the need to help more students during the pandemic. She also polished the online teaching style and student-teacher interaction model to ensure that the virtual classes not only enable students to learn from home, but also achieved the same remarkable academic results as before the pandemic. As the pandemic drew to a close, Annie created the hybrid teaching model to accommodate the combination of online and in-person learning.

Media Coverage

Since the establishment in 2010 in Ontario, Canada, we have helped many local students improve their math and thinking skills and has been interviewed and covered by many media outlets, including CBC TV News, Rogers TV Interview and The Uxbridge Cosmos. The results of many interviews have shown the miraculous effect of beadwork on children’s learning and personal growth and development.

Students have reported that by learning abacus, they are able to perform mathematical operations faster and more accurately. The learning of abacus not only helped them to improve their calculation speed and accuracy, but also stimulated their interest and enthusiasm for mathematics. Many of the students also said that they learned many practical skills and methods in the abacus program, which can be used not only in math exams but also in their daily lives. The parents of the students also expressed their appreciation for the abacus program. Through learning the abacus, children’s attention span, memory and problem-solving ability have been significantly improved.
